Butter as needed

Flour as needed

Pan spray as needed

1 1/2 sticks of butter

12oz semi sweet chocolate chips

12oz bakers chocolate

12 eggs

12 egg yolks

1 1/2 cups sugar

3 Tbsp + 1 tsp flour


This is our take on a rich and gooey chocolate dessert. This lava cake recipe is an easy choice for any chocolate lover. We suggest pairing it with our Griffin Creek 2010 Carbernet Sauvignon. 


Preheat oven to 450°. Butter and flour ramekins, being sure to tap out all of the flour. Next, pan spray and flour ramekins being sure to tap out all remaining flour. Set aside. Melt butter, chocolate, and bakers' chocolate, over double boiler. In a blender whisk eggs, egg yolks, and sugar until thick. Slowly on first speed, mix in the chocolate/butter mixture into the eggs. Add flour just until incorporated then with an ice cream scoop make 2.65oz portions with a scooper and place into chilled ramekins. Bake for 10 minutes and let rest for 2 minutes. Turn out of ramekins and serve.
