5-Spice Hoisin Pork Tenderloin

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes

1 1/2 lbs pork tenderloin

1/2 tsp ground ginger

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp 5-spice powder

1/2 tsp pepper

1/2 cup Hoisin sauce

1 tsp dry mustard

1/2 tsp salt

2 scallions for garnish, chopped/sliced

With the perfect blend of spices and the sweet and savory combination of Hoisin sauce, this recipe is mouthwatering. We suggest pairing it with our 2009 Estate Pinot Noir that has a smooth and sweet entry with flavors of brandied cherry, dark chocolate, and leather.

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Place 5-spice, dry mustard, ginger, pepper, and salt into bowl and mix well. Cover pork in spice rub. Heat cast iron skillet over medium-high heat and sear pork. Sear on each side for approximately 3-4 minutes or until golden brown on all sides then place in oven until cooked through. This will take about 20 minutes. Remove from oven and let rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, warm Hoisin sauce in sauce pot. Slice pork and serve with Hoisin and scallions.
